Healthcare Innovation, May 2020: "Prospero is a
home healthcare company funded by Optum[part of UnitedHealthcare],
to serve underserved patients. Our focus is providing an extra layer of support for people with serious illness in the community. Palliative care physicians run our teams. Our patients have two or more chronic conditions or a recent hospitalization or skilled nursing facility stay,
and thus are in a high-risk group for things like readmissions or emergency department visits."
The company is named after Prospero, protagonist of The Tempest.
The Journal Of The Royal Society Of Medicine explains, "It was Shakespeare, creator of the Prospero of The Tempest, and the other magi with their musical
medicine, who were to demonstrate dramatically what medicine might become."
In Spanish and Italian
"Prospero" means "Prosper". But you needn't know Shakespeare or speak any language other than English for Prospero to communicate Prosper in a friendly way with a bit of flair.
